The village shop in Spiringen is a success story
The village shop in Spiringen is a prime example of successful regional development. Faced with imminent closure in 2020, a dedicated working group was formed which, with the support of the local community and the subscription of 577 share certificates, saved the shop.
Since reopening in 2021, the village shop has offered a wide range of over 2,000 items, including many regional products, and serves as an important meeting place in the village. Thanks to the integration of a post office and customer-friendly opening hours, it is economically stable and strengthens local supply in the long term. The development of the village shop was accompanied over several years by Regiosuisse, the Swiss platform for regional development, and a multimedia storytelling project offers an exciting insight.
