Tellbus is the most profitable public transport service in Central Switzerland
According to the latest figures from the Federal Office of Transport (FOT) for 2022, the Tellbus between Altdorf and Lucerne is the most profitable public transport service in Central Switzerland, with a cost recovery ratio of 113%.
The Treib-Seelisberg Railway also impresses with a cost recovery rate of 77%. Across Switzerland, only 18 out of 1,422 public transport services achieve a surplus – this makes the Tellbus one of the few lines that not only covers its costs but also operates at a profit.
