Gotthard Innovation Park receives planning permission
The Gotthard Innovation Park has been granted planning permission. The office and industrial building of the interest group (IG) of the same name offers a usable area of around 4,000 m² and is being built in Werkmatt, within walking distance of the cantonal railway station in Altdorf, Uri. Built sustainably in timber, it represents an important milestone for the future development of Werkmatt Uri – one of the last significant land reserves along the north-south transport axis.
Located right next to Altdorf's cantonal railway station and in the immediate vicinity of the A2 motorway, the fully developed "Werkmatt Uri" site, which covers around 120,000 m², offers ideal conditions for companies that want to grow sustainably.
The high-quality office and commercial space being created on construction site 11 is attractive for both start-ups and established companies. It is aimed at companies in Uri, as well as companies that want to utilise the advantages of the location and create jobs in Uri. The modern and flexibly dividable premises are designed to meet the needs of different sectors and uses and to provide an inspiring working environment. The building is scheduled to be occupied in mid-2028.
"With planning permission granted, we are a decisive step closer to our goal of creating an attractive location for future-oriented companies in Uri," says Claudio Deplazes, member of IG Innovationspark Gotthard. "We are looking forward to intensifying our discussions with potential tenants and to getting to know new interested partners."
Director of Economic Affairs and Cantonal Councillor Urban Camenzind is also delighted: "With planning permission granted, IG Innovationspark has reached a pleasing milestone. It is thus helping to further realise the development of Werkmatt Uri.
The granting of planning permission clears the way for the realisation of the project. Interested tenants can find out about rental options and the advantages of the location with immediate effect. IG Innovationspark Gotthard also supports potential tenants in the planning and realisation of their spatial concepts.
